As an outcome of previous exchanges, a group of Ohio artists have once again interacted with Cuban artists. This initiative was sponsored by the Erika Bourguignon’s Trust I celebration of the travels that greatly impacted the Bourguignon’s work. Paul, Belgian-born master painter, traveled extensively in his early years. Travel memories inspired his paintings for decades. Erika, world-renowned anthropologist, traveled to Cuba and Haiti as a young women. Her experiences were the foundation of her work as a professor at The Ohio State University. Though the Bourguignons spent most of their time in Ohio, world views transformed their lives.
